Rita and Mark Shanks Wedding Vow Renewal
On first talking to Rita as a client, I didn't make the connection of her surname and the fact that she lived locally.
After talking for a while I realised the venue was very near where I live, and that they live locally too, although it still didn't really click that her surname was Shanks and that one of my best friends from junior school to first-year senior school was Mark Shanks. By the end of the evening however we had worked out that me and Mark knew each other very well and it had been 30 odd years since we actually spoke properly.
So it was odd that during their Vow Renewal 25th Wedding Anniversary photos that it seemed like only a few weeks ago that me and Mark and Mark's mum had last talked even though it was way more than 35 years ago. It just goes to show that if you leave a friendship on good terms it's very comfortable to reconnect at any point in time - way are beyond what you think will be normal, so much so, that I had a very good night and a really good day photographing the pair and all of their family and friends.
