And Education in Minecraft
Taking on the project for Enginuity of Skills Miner seemed great, a project in which the aerospace industry has utilised Minecraft to allow year sevens and eights to understand some of the rules in that industry.
However the caveat for me is that although I know Minecraft, I don't know how to control for utilise or program any part of it, so I was relying on the software to give me some hints on how to manoeuvre and I would record the screen from there. It would maybe allow me to make the clips within Minecraft to edit together to do a show real for students and teachers on what Skills Miner was about
However, never fear, because I have William a 13-year-old, who knows Minecraft and has played it since he was six years old. So many of the questions about recording a “manufactured green screen” within Minecraft or how to get the best out of camera angles within the game and also what to actually do we're answered within minutes.
The best bit of this, and all credit to Enginuity, was the fact that once William started playing the program of Skills Minor he kept on going and continue to try and finish the game. Showing just how effective the Game/education system really was!
