‘Traits is a personal project that focuses on my friends and colleagues that dedicate a big chunk of their lives to working on their creative passion, whatever that might be.

Paul Searle and I got into a heated discussion in 1993 about copyright after creating a music sharing club where I worked. We often crossed paths in the years to follow and often chatted for longer than the corridoor or meeting room had need for.

I was fascinated with Paul’s most recent passion (of which he has many including Cars and Vintage items) which was making leather hats. After visiting his workshop and learning not only Pauls path to this creative past-time but also the methods and hand crafting that goes into everything behind it .
